Outdoor Furniture Care
As the seasons change, a few simple steps can help keep your outdoor furniture looking great and lasting for years to come.
1. Protecting Upholstery & Cushions
-
Our furniture is upholstered in Sunbrella fabric, known for its durability. However, to prevent mildew, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and frost.
-
Store cushions in a dry, sheltered place when not in use. If storage is limited, a breathable cushion storage bag helps protect them while allowing airflow.
-
If cushions must stay outside, tilt them on their side or use a breathable cover—never trap moisture underneath.
2. Cleaning Upholstery & Cushion Covers
-
Removable covers? Machine wash on a cold cycle with mild detergent.
-
Drying tip: Hang covers inside out on the line until damp, then refit them while still slightly damp. This helps retain their shape as they finish drying on the furniture.
-
Non-removable covers? Spot clean with mild soapy water, or use a mix of water and white vinegar for tougher stains.
-
Avoid pressure washing, as it can damage the fabric.
3. Caring for Metal Frames
-
Wipe off moisture regularly to prevent water pooling on flat surfaces.
-
Live near the coast? Rinse with fresh water every few weeks to reduce salt buildup.
-
For any scratches or chips, touch up with a rust-inhibiting metal paint to maintain protection.
4. Covering & Storage Tips
-
Invest in a breathable outdoor furniture cover to protect from frost and rain—avoid plastic covers that trap moisture.
-
If possible, move furniture under cover (patio, garage, or shed) to extend its life.
-
If storing outdoors, these simple steps will help minimise wear and tear through the colder months.
5. Built to Last
Our outdoor furniture is designed to withstand the elements, but a little seasonal care means less work in spring. Regular maintenance keeps it looking beautiful—and performing at its best—for years to come.
